Busy as a bee.....and then some...
Ok, so I've been super busy with work and all. Working nights 7:30pm - 6am was killing me with no time for my home or myself. I decided to give my notice and now I'm home until I reapply on Monday (9/21/15). Yes, I requested days and Monday-Friday.
With that being said, I have gotten alot done around the house, not to mention been able to spend time with my furbabies and made time for myself. I was able to finally read a magazine my hubby got me last month and catch up on some other reading, especially learning how to homestead. While I'm not quite there and ready yet, I have some tips and tricks with the help of a wonderful book "The Homesteading Handbook" by Abigail R. Gehring. Some useful information indeed.
Not to mention, I am in love with Mary Janes Farm books and was able to pick a few of her books up "used" at 2nd and Charles, a wonderful store that buys and sells books and other fun goodies for a good price too!
I know I haven't been blogging much but now you know why, but I really want to get in gear and learn how to do a few things in 2016. Here are some off the top of my head.
- Learn how to grow a garden (tomatoes, cilantro, basil, cucumbers, peppers, onions, green beans, etc.) AND keep the critters out
- Read more on homesteading (will also help with #1)
- Homemade cleaning solutions that work with pets in the home
- Cut costs, live simpler
- Learn to can
That already seems like a lot to accomplish but with only 3 months left of 2015, I've got to get myself in gear and be prepared, so it's time for me to keep reading and browsing the internet to help me accomplish the things on my list and maybe a few more.
