How to rust safety pins, bells, wire, etc...
It works great but does take a few days to really get things rusty-This is much safer then acid, and better then tossing things out in the rain.
Make sure the bowl is a craft bowl not one you care about-Its going to have stain residue and is only good for crafts after this.
- ADD ONE whole bottle peroxide-nice and fresh kind (add more if needed play with recipe)
- ADD ONE cup white vinegar NOT apple cider just white
- ADD a tablespoon of salt
- STIR it up and do this outside, it will start to bubble and cause mild fumes (you might want to wear a mask)
- DUMP in you pins and stir to activate-Set outside or anywhere you want with proper air flow.
- Stir once in a while-Leave in solution at least two days-IT WILL seem like nothing is going on-
DUmp out on cookie sheet in the sun-Drained of course-CAN be wet-Gives it alittle extra boost-
I leave mine on an old rusty cookie tray outside for day or in the garage-They just rust away and continue to rust the longer you leave them out-
THIS IS MESSY AND IT STAINS CLOTHES, CARPETS, ETC. LET THE PINS, BELLS, WIRE DRY AND CRAFT AWAY.
Hope this helps you make those great rusty items.
