Decluttering CAN be so much fun... AND

Decluttering CAN be so much fun AND ... can make you money too! For the past couple weekends the hubby and I have been learning to let go of things that DO NOT bring joy in our lives and either give them away or sell them at the flea market. We've made some money but we also donated some to local charities and YES it feels amazing.

Who would have thought that after a few months of "really" trying to simplify our lives that we would actually be doing it? Not me, that's for sure but we are and I am super excited about what comes next.

I was watching a you tube couple the other day and the couple talked about going through all and yes I mean ALL your belongings and find out whether the item brings JOY into your life. How to do this is a time consuming task BUT it really does work. What you have to do is hold each and every single item and ask the question DO I FEEL JOY? If you answered yes you keep it, if no then either sell it or donate it. At first it seems easy but when you get to sentimental items there will be tears and emotions but remember DOES THIS ITEM MAKE ME FEEL JOY?

With all that we are still slowly getting to each category but so far so good, until next time, be JOYFUL!
